Formica Stone Care & Maintenance

Routine Cleaning. Formica Stone Natural Quartz Surfacing is non-porous and highly stain resistant. It can be easily wiped clean with mild soap and warm water. If needed, you may also use the following house¬hold cleaners: Windex,¨ Formula 409,¨ Lysol,¨ ammonia, vinegar, rubbing alcohol, mineral spirits.
For hardened spills, such as glue or paint, gently scrape material off using a plastic putty knife then use mild soap and warm water or one of the recommended household cleaners listed above.
Spots. For difficult spots, soak the affected area with one of the recommended household cleaners for up to 10 minutes. Scrub the area with a Scotch-Brite¨ pad.
Chemicals to Avoid. Avoid exposing Formica Stone to strong chemicals and solvents. Items to avoid include: permanent markers or inks, oil soaps, tarnish removers and furniture cleaners or paint strippers that contain trichlorethane or ethylene chloride. Also avoid exposing Formica Stone to chemicals with highalkaline/PH levels, such as oven and grill cleaners, floor strippers, toilet bowl cleaners and drainproducts like Drano¨ or Liquid-Plumr.¨ Products containing oils or powders may leave a residue.
Sealers. Do not apply any sealers to your Formica Stone surface.
Simple Precautions
Do not place hot pans directly from the burner, grill or oven directly on the countertop surface. Even though Formica Stone can withstand moderately high temperatures, prolonged or extreme heat can cause damage to the surface. Hot pads or trivets should be used. A hot pad or trivet should also be used under all heated appliances, such as crock-pots, electric fry pans, etc. Any sudden or extreme temperature swings should be avoided.
Formica Stone is highly durable but it is not indestructible. Avoid placing other pieces of Formica Stone directly onto the surface. Use caution with heavy pots and pans around the countertop edge. Avoid forcefulblows to the surface with any heavy objects. Do not sit or stand on the surface of your Formica Stone.
Do not cut directly on the surface of your Formica Stone countertop. Although Formica Stone is highly scratch resistant, heavy pressure with a knifepoint can cause damage to the surface.
Formica Stone is recommended for indoor use only. Color may fade under prolonged, direct exposure to bright sunlight (UV rays).
